About Linus & Sharon (now in Heaven)

Linus and Sharon Morris met and married in Portland, Oregon and Linus became a Christian his senior year at Oregon State University (OSU). Upon graduating, the Linus and Sharon then worked in student ministry at Northwestern University and UCLA.

The Morrises then helped co-found Christian Associates International (CAI), a student outreach and training ministry in Southern California. Linus subsequently helped start and traveled extensively with the News Release Basketball team that shared the good news of Christ in Asia, Africa, and Europe.

In 1980, the Morris family of eight moved to Europe where they started churches in Geneva and Amsterdam. In the 25 years that followed, Linus led CAI as its president in launching 50 churches, primarily in Europe.

After 43 years of student ministry in the US and church planting in Europe, Linus and Sharon joined the staff of Global Training Network in 2011 to begin training networks of leaders in the Majority World.

Along with son-in-law Phil Graf, Linus developed the Divine Expedition Training based on the book of Romans. The purpose of this training is to equip leaders to multiply national movements that reach people for Christ, make disciples, develop leaders, and plant churches. They are now doing so in Uganda, Brazil, Nepal, Ethiopia, and El Salvador.

Linus holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University, a Masters in Christian Studies from Regent College, both a Masters of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a second Doctor of Ministry jointly recognized by Bakke Graduate University and Asia Theological Seminary.

Linus wrote The High Impact Church, and along with his son Linus Jr, co-authored The Divine Expedition: Where Are You in the Book of Romans?. In addition to traveling and training globally, Linus is working on an apologetics project entitled, “Big Issues that We Face Today.”

During their sixty years of marriage, Linus and Sharon had 6 children and 17 grandchildren. After Sharon’s recent slipping into heaven, Linus continues to live near the Los Angeles airport, where he will continue to travel with Global Training Network to equip leaders and reproduce movements in the Majority World.
