About Doug & Wendi
Doug and Wendi have been partners in life and ministry since 1983. Both are long-time residents of Thousand Oaks, CA, having grown up there from childhood. They are blessed to have raised their three children, Brooke Steinbacher (Nathan), Spencer (Jessica) and Elise, in T.O. They have 3 grandkids (Brooke’s kids: Irelin, Rhett, and Amelie) and the 4th (to parents, Spencer and Jessica) due in October of 2023.
After graduating with his BA from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA, Doug began ministry as a youth pastor. He earned an MA in Christian Ed. and a D.Min. (Doctor of Ministry) at Talbot Theological Seminary. Wendi graduated from Biola University as an R.N. and still serves fulltime as a nurse.
Doug has a passion for communicating God’s Word. Clear, uncompromising Bible teaching, with humor and relevance, has characterized his ministry. Having served many years as an Associate Pastor, he became a church planter in 2004 with the birth of Living Oaks Church in Newbury Park, CA. Over its nearly 19 years, LOC (now led by Lead Pastor, Austin Axen) has become known for making mature disciples by giving people biblical clarity and practical knowledge in living out Christ’s purpose.
GTN offers an incredible opportunity for Doug to pass along what the Lord has entrusted to him. He and Wendi look forward to investing their future ministry years for the greatest results, in areas experiencing the greatest need, for God’s Kingdom.
Hobbies and leisure pastimes for the Poseys include hiking, gardening, and their new dog, “Chipper.” Doug enjoys exercise, writing, drawing, podcasts and audiobooks. Wendi loves reading, cooking, the beach, and anything grandkid-related!
