About Chip & Jean
“Home” for Chip Kingery, his wife Jean and children Keturah, Noah and Naomi has been Bangalore, India for over twenty years. In 1986, they began the ministry of proVISION ASIA, dedicated to empowerment and advocacy of people with disabilities. Focused on the spiritual needs of these people, proVISION ASIA also addresses medical needs, job placement, education and socioeconomic needs of this community who comprise over 10 percent of India’s 1.3 billion population.
Born in Franklin, Virginia, Chip graduated from the University of Richmond. He attended the European Baptist Theologiche Seminaire in Ruschlikon, Switzerland and the University of Zurich; and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Seminary with both a Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry.
Chip served as Associate Director of the Southwest Office of UNICEF in Dallas; Director for Asia of World Hunger Relief; and as Adjunct Professor of World Religions at Wake Forest University. Most recently he was International Director at the Joni and Friends International Disability Center in southern California.
Chip brings to GTN a passion for transformation among the global disability community, and training in disability ministry and the theology of suffering. He and the proVISION ASIA Indian staff are deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of the GTN family!
